If you're wondering why I am invoking the name Ayn Rand, it's because of what I've seen recently. I was behind a vehicle at a stoplight and that car had on its license plate holder the phrase “Who is John Galt?”, which I know references her book Atlas Shrugged; I haven't read anything from her and yet I know just bringing up the name Ayn Rand online is bound to lead to controversy so I'll move on.
Last Monday I didn't do a thing but Tuesday night I returned to the local Texas Roadhouse for dinner... and a beverage. I liked my food so that was good. Wednesday, I ate at Chipotle, Thursday was Wendy's and Friday was Pizza Hut; I realize I have been eating spectacularly these past few days! There isn't too much to say about the week itself before the weekend except:
Wednesday I was driving to Chipotle and I had to deal with another road rage incident. Basically, someone was driving like an asshat and I let him know I did not appreciate his driving (of course the driver was some young punk) and he started driving even more aggressively, which only served to prove my point that he was an awful driver.
I finally saw The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. I figured I should do so before I saw Furious 7. I thought that Tokyo Drift was pretty bad, with a terrible story and nothing but unpleasant characters. Also, during this past weekend the Australian Football League started up their regular season so I watched parts of a few games late at night.
Saturday, that was finally an interesting day. I did several things (such as watching and listening to the big college basketball games) but the main thing was seeing the massive hit known as Furious 7. Now I've seen all the movies in the franchise and the first four at best are fine but 5 and 6 are great entertainment. I had high hopes for 7. While I know there were obvious production problems due to tragedy, I still felt disappointed by 7. The plot is just a mess and even for the series things just got too stupid and implausible. Also, the way it was shot and the action scenes were shaky-cam and too quick editing, that did not make me happy. I don't hate it; I just feel disappointed and that's my quick review. At least they did nail the ending and they did a great job of paying tribute to Paul Walker and writing him out of the series.
Wackiness happened before the film as right by the front entrance to the theatre several fancy cars were parked, such as GT-R's, a Corvette and a Porsche 911. This was a popular attraction. Despite the movie letting me down it was still a nice day overall. Sunday, I didn't do anything for Easter and that is OK. Eating leftovers for dinner was swell to me... although my poor diet as of late may have had a negative impact on my stomach and I'll leave it at that.
When I return a week from today I actually have some eventful things planned, so it will be a colorful blog post.
