The Hello Kitty I'm referring to is the Avril Lavigne song which has that title; I did hear it and WOW is it really really bad. I pretty much pay zero attention to the modern music scene (let alone the pop music or top 40 scene) as it's atrocious from what I've heard. That song manages to stand out in the worst ways. It's a song co-written by the lead singer of Nickelback AND it has dubstep. Need I say more?
This past Monday and Tuesday I did not do anything of note. I was happy to be low-key. So, let me move onto Wednesday, which was a day I went out and about. As I hadn't been to the rustic themed Hooters-esque chain known as Twin Peaks in a few months, I figured it was about damn time for me to return there. I had my usual there and it was nice to be back; the place hasn't really changed, which is fine with me.
I then went to the Cinemark Theatres at the Festival Bay Mall, which HAS changed. I've mentioned before how it's been a dead mall pretty much since it opened shortly before I moved down here; this area just has too many malls and that had to be a reason it never did well. From what I understand it's now going to be an artisan's market, with the few places that did well still going to be open. It must have been a long time since I was last there as now much of the former mall (it'll soon be known as Artegon Marketplace) is closed down and they're working on remodeling it. Of course the whole thing is going to open months behind schedule, but alas... sometime soon a Toby Keith restaurant is supposed to open there, and I should go to it, even if only for the comedy value and to talk about it. From what I hear, their french fries are called “Freedom Fries”, so that probably says a whole lot about what I can expect there.
I went there as it was one of a few places in the area that shows old movies each Sunday and Wednesday; in this case it was The Ten Commandments... that's the most famous version with Charlton Heston. I had never seen it before. It was a long experience; with intermission and all that the movie ran from 7PM to 11PM. It would have been nice if the screening was idiot-free, but that wasn't the case. I'm not even going to rant and rave about it, even though it's deserved. Unfortunately the last two times I've been to the theatre I've been frustrated with tremendously rude A-holes. It's been awhile since that was an issue but it's become an issue now and I am real unhappy about that. At least I enjoyed the movie; it's definitely a spectacle and an epic.
As a random aside, during this week I had a dream involving the lovely actress Rachael Leigh Cook. It wasn't a lewd dream; heck, it wasn't even a dream where I was “hooked up” with her. I don't know what that says about me, but a few days later I had another dream and in that one, I was driving a brand new Porsche 911. If only... heck, if I had Rachael in a Porsche 911, that'd be best! And yes I did see the picture of her in People Magazine and their annual beautiful ladies issue where for a wacky reason they had several 34 year old women posting tastefully nude, including Ms. Cook, and I did think it was great.
Anyway, Thursday I did not do a darn thing. Friday, the only thing I did was go to my usual open mall hangout, Winter Garden Village, where the highlight was when I was walking to Target and right by the front doors, I see like 5 cops arresting a young hooligan! I use that phrase as he looked and dressed exactly like you'd probably expect a young hooligan to look and dress. I'd presume he was a shoplifter but with the number of cops maybe it was something more serious.
Saturday, it was the latest UFC pay per view. I went to the local Buffalo Wild Wings to watch it. The show from top to bottom was rather entertaining. I could have done without the Troglodyte who decided (I don't know who it was as I was in the men's room at the time) “Hey, the main event's about to start! Let's have the volume to the show at full blast and give everyone permanent hearing damage!”, but I am unfortunately not surprised that the place would do something stupid like that, as they've done some pretty stupid things throughout the years. Other than that it wasn't too eventful there.
Sunday I just stayed in and relaxed. I was fine with that. For my next blog a week from today, I really have nothing planned as of yet. I'll figure out some activities (hopefully none of them paranormal) and hopefully the next thing I post won't be dull.

The Story of Technology Woes & Khabib Nurmagomedov
Khabib is a UFC fighter (a very good one, as a matter of fact) and I'll explain later my issues with technology.
This past Monday I did not do anything and the same goes for Tuesday, so let me mention a random aside: I know it's been a long while since I've mentioned Australian rules football and the Australian Football League. In late September I watched the final game live, where Hawthorn defeated Fremantle 77-62. The season started back up about a month ago and I've seen bits and pieces of some games and one full game. At least I've followed it from the start of the season.
Wednesday, I decided to go out and about. With the way that Windows 7 was acting on my laptop, I figured it was the perfect time to get Windows 8.1 from a Microsoft store, do a clean install and wipe the hard drive clean before installing 8.1. That would ensure I'd have no further quirks or odd things happening when I have the laptop on. I went to the store that's at the Mall at Millenia. After I made that purchase I walked around the mall for a bit before deciding to have dinner at a restaurant I hadn't been to for awhile: BJ's Brewhouse & Restaurant. I had their pizza, which was real good. What wasn't real good was some of the loud idiot customers there, but alas... I tried to ignore them the best I could. Anyway, I wasn't going to install 8.1 right away, but I had an issue with the laptop... in short, after backing up what I needed to back up, the installation happened, and since then I've had no problems.
Thursday, the refrigerator was the next bit of technology to cause problems; it still worked, but not very well. A middle-aged dude came over and was able to fix the problem right then and there and it wasn't anything complicated. It wasn't cheap but getting a new fridge and having to buy a lot of new food would have been far costlier. In the evening me and someone went out to a local chain that has a few locations around the county I live in; it's known as Oakwood Smokehouse & Grill. It's a popular place with “older folks”, which is fine with me. They make decent food so it's nice to go there once in awhile.
Friday, the only thing I did was go out to the new Wawa that opened up in town. It looks like a typical Wawa, nothing more and nothing less. I got gas then went inside to get a beverage. As I got out it started to rain; it really came out of nowhere and I was hoping not to get rained on which is why I went at that time.
Saturday, that was the day of action. For the first time the UFC came to Orlando at the Amway Center and it was one of their shows where the last 4 fights are on Fox, meaning the card was likely going to be good and in fact it was pretty good on paper. I sat in the lower half of the upper bowl and besides the fact that Amway Center seats don't always have the best legroom, it otherwise was a nice-enough view for me to see everything. Of course I knew there'd be plenty of meatheads around who would utter and yell out the most inane BS, from what sounded like gibberish to giving stupid advice to the fighters and the referees, and that's what I got. People drinking for hours aided in such things. I was able to mostly tune them out, at least. They didn't seem to like Kahbib's fight; I know his style isn't the flashiest but it was still dumb as he's still impressive; hell, he's 22-0 in his career.
Not everyone does it (which is usually stupid to me) but I showed up on time and saw the entire 13 card fight; with the commercial breaks from Fox added in, the show lasted from 3:30 to about 10:30. It was long but at least I was able to eat a small Papa John's pizza and some Cold Stone Creamery ice cream.
As for the show, despite the idiots there, the card was pretty good overall. I enjoyed practically all of the fights. After the show I was just gonna go home... then I saw all the traffic in the area and at the parking garage I was at, I would have been there for awhile in the car just waiting to leave the garage, so I decided to do the typical downtown Orlando things, meaning the Ghost Bar & Lounge. There really isn't too much to say; I only spent around an hour there in order to kill time. I was too tired to stay longer. As for the next time I'll be in downtown Orlando... who knows. I can't believe I am saying this, but that whole thing doesn't seem as exciting as it used to be. Maybe I am getting old! At least I still manage to find things to write about in this blog... I have no idea when I'll be back to the Amway Center either.
Easter Sunday, the way I was feeling with being stiff & sore and tired, I was happy to stay at home and do absolutely nothing. I had a nice ham dinner; I understand it's a common meal to have on that day. I did in fact watch some more Australian rules football on the TV late at night.
When I return next Monday, I know I'll be seeing a movie on the big screen and I'll be somewhere to see the latest UFC pay per view; otherwise... it probably won't be as interesting as this entry into the blog.

The Raid 2, The Ultimate Warrior & Shrimpin' Ain't Easy
I do have a good explanation for the wacky title, trust me on this.
I said most of what I wanted to say about last Monday in the last blog; you know, ranting and raving about the awful traffic of Florida. I also had to stop by for a few minutes at my local bank. It was a minor issue I had to take care of, but things are fine now. The only thing I did on Tuesday was go to the familiar haunt of Winter Garden Village, where I walked around for a bit to get some exercise and I got a beverage from Planet Smoothie; having a coupon for it was even nicer.
I am a pro wrestling and have been for the majority of my life so yes I was shocked and saddened to hear the news late in the night that The Ultimate Warrior had passed away a few hours beforehand, literally a few days after making peace with WWE after almost 2 decades and entering their Hall of Fame, briefly appearing at Wrestlemania, then speaking for a few minutes at Monday Night Raw the night before he died. The timing of all that was definitely eerie. Sure, Warrior appeared to be legitimately insane often and he made some awful comments about people, but he has a wife and two young daughters and I do feel bad for them.
Wednesday, me and someone I know went out to dinner; as they recently saw an ad on TV for Joe's Crab Shack and remarked how they hadn't been there in months, what better place to go to? Sure it was on the west side of Kissimmee so it took some time to get there, but the food was good at least. I had something out of my usual wheelhouse; I decided to have an appetizer of shrimp. To be exact, it was shrimp in a bucket you had to peel yourself. It was a decent meal so while I rarely eat seafood, I think I should have shrimp more often. I should also go to Joe's more often and at least once on my own sit at their bar and try one of their fruity alcoholic beverages as I imagine they're real good.
Thursday, I did no do a darn thing, which is OK as I knew I'd be out and about on Friday. On Friday, I knew I was going to see on the big screen The Raid 2; it's an Indonesian action/martial arts film that's a sequel to The Raid: Redemption, which came out in the United States around this time 2 years ago and it's an awesome film. From what I had heard, I just presumed the sequel would also be great and thus I was real excited to watch the movie. Unfortunately, unlike most of the world I was disappointed with the film. While I wish it would have been filmed and done differently at times, the action was pretty great overall and there's some spectacular stuff. Unfortunately, it's the story which lets it down. The first movie had a deceptively simple story and the sequel greatly expands things. I was fine with that except that I thought it was a not so hot story told not so well. I would rate the movie average overall but that's mainly due to the quality of the action scenes; otherwise...
Then again, Friday wasn't a good day in general. It was a lot of little things, mainly involving rude A-holes, whether in person or on the highway. Just rudeness all around and that day wasn't great; the movie being disappointing did not help matters. At least the dinner I had after the movie at Splitsville was good. I tried something new on their menu, which was parmesan chicken fingers; it was appetizer-sized but that was OK; I also needed an alcoholic beverage so I got one. Even there, some dumb people were around but at least the bartender who served me was a nice young lady.
Saturday I could have done something but I was just damn tired and after the Friday I had I figured I should stay in rather than risk having two crappy days in a row. So, onto Sunday. On that day, a parent was interested in me getting them something for dinner; I thought about it for a bit then decided I should go to a place I rarely get to due to where it's located at (the great sub shop known as Larry's Giant Subs) and as it's on the way I should stop by the large Florida Mall to walk around for a bit. Between Friday and this day, I experienced some horrific traffic. I mean, just the damned stupidest idiots on the road; I had to use my horn more than once or twice, I'll put it that way, as some people really deserved it, along with certain gestures... then, at the Florida Mall itself, I was in their small CVS for a few minutes. I encountered two “ladies”, and I put that in quotations only because they did not act like ladies; they often dropped F-bombs, and were loud! Real charming and mature, you Troglodytes!
At least most of the people at the mall were fine and it was nice to get some exercise walking around and I also browsed in some stores. After that I made the drive over to Larry's Giant Subs, a place I dig and yet I am only able to go there once in a blue moon as it's in the Southeast part of Orlando (by the airport) and it takes awhile for me to get there. There used to be another location in Kissimmee that was a little closer but it closed down what had to be a few years ago by now. Imagine my shock when the dude working the cash register said he remembered me from when I used to go to their Kissimmee location. I did not remember him at all but I didn't tell him that. I brought the sandwiches home and they were good.
When I return next Monday, not a lot is planned yet, aside from Saturday the 19th, where I'll be at a live UFC show in Orlando at the Amway Center (it's a show where the last four fights will be live on FOX, so it's a higher-profile card) and I'll spend some time talking about that... and Easter Sunday I'll likely have a ham dinner at home. So it should be a nice week.

Florida Traffic Gripes, Wrestlemania & Being A Beer Connoisseur
At times I had a pretty different past 7 days. I did not do anything the last Monday of March so let me skip ahead to April Fools Day and nothing I say here is a joke. I somewhat last minute decided to go to a MovieStop in order to look at (mostly) used DVD's and Blu-Rays and see if they had anything interesting. I did make a purchase there and got some discs. I then went on I-Drive (it's never a fun time having to be on that tourist nightmare of a road) and I ate at a Tilted Kilt, as my last time at one of those restaurants was last summer; I like their food... the views aren't bad either!
I had a more interesting time there than expected. The food I had was good, but I had more to consume than expected. I had the lager that Tilted Kilt makes themselves, and it was fine. I noticed a poster advertising KCCO Black Lager. I was surprised, as that's a reference to The Chive website. You'd think I'd enjoy such a site; unfortunately there are various aspects about it (especially the thing where they brag and point out if a girl has “a thigh gap” as if that's somehow THE hottest thing when I've never heard a guy say that's great and much of it depends on a lady's body type and yet I know that ideal has caused young girls to develop eating disorders... yeah, that site is not one I visit too often, due to the incredible creep and douche factor it has. I still wanted to try their beer, though. The bartender accidentally gave me the wrong beer, which was OK as I also was interested in the new Miller Fortune, which is high-octane beer. It's Miller, so it's about what you'd expect. I then had the Black Lager and it's a typical black lager, nothing more nor less. I had more drinks when I got home and I did not feel the best on Wednesday, but alas.
Wednesday, the only thing I did was go to Walmart and it was uneventful. Thursday and Friday I did not do anything, except that on Friday I had an issue with my laptop and for a moment I thought there would be trouble. I thankfully was able to quickly rectify the situation, so let me talk about the weekend. Saturday, I had to drop off a family member at the airport, but not in Orlando; rather it was in St. Petersburg.
The drive there... Lord almighty, the traffic on Interstate 4. I know that everyone in Florida hates I-4 due to how busy it is and there's often congestion, but it was near-constant congestion and there were plenty of awful drivers to see. Even after dropping off that person at the airport there was a lot of traffic on the road, and I was taken a little aback by that. Speaking of traffic, just earlier today while out on the road I had to deal with idiots and even in early April of 2014, I STILL once in awhile see something extraordinarily stupid I haven't seen before and I can not explain. It happened in my neighborhood; some dope on a side street pulled out but stopped halfway... and remained stopped halfway into the road! I honestly can not explain it. I had to swerve around him and as it was a street on a small hill I was not able to see what he ended up doing (a u-turn or whatever else); this is the sort of buffoonery I have to deal with most of the time I have to drive somewhere in Florida, no exaggeration.
Anyhow, I still spent a few hours in the Tampa area as I don't make it out that way much anymore. I had lunch at a restaurant in Clearwater... Hooters! It was the very first Hooters, too. I had been there before but that was years ago. It was about what you'd expect. I then went to the International Plaza Mall in Tampa. I hadn't been there in months and it was nice to walk around; I had some ice cream, which I greatly appreciated. I then stopped at the just-opened Trader Joe's they have on the south side of Tampa; it being a Saturday afternoon and it being new, they needed a cop to direct traffic in and out of the parking lot. I did not spend too much time in there due to how crowded it was but I still purchased a few items. I then took the Veterans Expressway north (it's a toll road but worth the price to avoid I-4) and cut over east to head back home. It was a nice-if long-day going to some different places.
Sunday, the only thing I did was watch Wrestlemania. As I have the WWE Network the show was streaming for free there; it was a nice deal. From the pre-show match at 6:30 up to 8:30 it was a quality show. I mean, no complaints. From 8:30 up to 11, though, it was not such a quality show, with too long matches (one that many enjoyed but I didn't seemed to last for approximately 900 minutes), overbooked nonsense and other things. At least the ending (well, most aspects of it) was really cool and to think that in the past before he went to WWE, I actually talked to Daniel Bryan (i.e. Bryan Danielson) several times after local independent wrestling shows and he razzed me... but in a nice way. He gave me song long hugs, for example; no kidding. It's amazing to think of those times and now in 2014 he is hugely popular and I am glad for it he's been given the ball despite not being as tall or being ripped muscular as, say, John Cena or Batista. And like everyone else I was shocked by a match result as no one had any clue it would happen, even the hardcore people who cover pro wrestling and all its inside backstage news.
This upcoming week I have some ideas as to what I'll be doing but nothing is set in stone yet. While I won't be making any roadtrips like I did to the Tampa Bay area, I should have an interesting thing or two to discuss.
