I don't think I need to tell you what I think of a child that is named “North West”, so let me move away from that and I'll tell you about the week I had. Monday I did return to Winter Garden Village, the outdoor mall and I stopped by a few stores. I got some items from both Best Buy and World Market. I got some gourmet soda (more on that topic later), too. Tuesday and Wednesday were boring, so let me talk about Thursday...
Thursday, I went to The Loop outdoor mall in Kissimmee, as I hadn't been there in awhile. The drive there and back was rainy, and as I've mentioned many times before, when there's “sky water” on the ground, the driver IQ becomes even lower than usual. That was as annoying as usual. I got there and I went into a Bealls department store and then a Books-A-Million, where I did pick up some items. After that I went to BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse, a place I've been to a few times before and the name always makes me giggle because I sometime still think like a 15 year old. Instead of having their great pizza I decided to have their boneless wings, just to try it out. It tasted fine but it was HOT so I'll stick with their great pizza. I also had their cider, which I almost always get when I am there, as it's tasty. It helped me to deal with the LOUD idiot at the bar who loudly blabbered on in a slow manner (as if I was wondering if there were things mentally wrong with him... I know, mean, but that's honestly what I wondered) and I was happy when he finally left. Sometime in the upcoming week I may return there with someone and that's when I'll have the pizza.
Friday wasn't too exciting, except that in the later afternoon I watched a terrible TV show on The Travel Channel and of course has little to do with travel, but me ranting about how all the cable channels now seem the same despite their name and what they're supposed to show... that'll have to come on a different day. It is called The Dead Files and it's about a retired cop and a woman who allegedly “sees dead people” and they both investigate spooky shit. I only watched it as the episode was filmed in my old hometown of Belvidere, Illinois. In short, what a load of crap the show is! It's obvious to see how certain things are misleading and how things are staged to make it look more supernatural than it actually is. The case was about hauntings that allegedly happened on an old farm and some children died there back in the old days (that isn't so unusual) and two people hung themselves. The lady proclaimed that the issue was... a child-like demon with no eyes was haunting the place! I became greatly amused by the time the show ended, as it was so stupid. But no I did not recognize anyone in the episode.
Saturday, that's where the action happened. In the afternoon someone I follow online mentioned an article about the best places for burgers and it mentioned a place called BurgerFi. I had never heard of it before but I saw there was a location in downtown Winter Park, a nice area I haven't really visited before. I decided to go there tonight before I went to good old Ghost Bar & Lounge. They are similar to the great Shake Shack and aren't as great but still is good overall. I enjoyed their burger and their concrete shake make with custard was great. Next door was a place I had not heard of; it's Rocket Fizz and it sells candy but its main goal is stocking dozens of different gourmet sodas; as I dig such a thing I was greatly excited to go in there, and I spent more money in there than I was expecting to.
Here are the 16 sodas I purchased, written down in case you are interested... and to make me remember when I go there in the future:
Rocket Fizz Christmas Mint Soda
Jones Soda Whoopass Energy Drink
Rocket Fizz Rocket Fuel Energy Drink
Dragon Tail Energy Ice Mint Blizzard With Lemon
Reading Draft Grape Smoothie (from Pennsylvania)
Sprecher Blueberry
Sprecher Puma Kola
Sprecher Cherry Cola
Olde Philadelphia Old Fashioned Orange Cream
Frostop Orange & Cream
Jelly Belly Tangerine
Sioux City Berry Berry
Mighty Mouse Blue Cream
Gene Autry Root Beer
Judge Wapner Cola; yes. I suppose that's for all the Rain Man fans out there
COCK COLA; there's a rooster on the label, but wow what a bold name
I've had the last three sodas and the Autry Root Beer was fine and so was the Wapner Cola; the COCK COLA was the best, if only because it has “a strong cola taste”, as mentioned on the label.
After that I went to Ghost Bar & Lounge. I did not experience any great times there such as random women inviting me over and being able to take a picture with all 6 of them or random drunk women dancing on my leg/lap. Still, it was a fun time there where I saw random hammered white people attempt to dance (always good for lolz), sporting events on their TV's (such as the big hockey game where Chicago won), enjoyed the live music and then the DJ that spun some tunes, and there were some very attractive women there. Good times! I wish I had more to say about it, but at least I had fun there... even with what happened when I got there, where there apparently was some sort of dance circle right by the entrance (great place for one, you know) and some tool said, “Hey, how about you jump rope!?”, and I just ignored him and walked on over to get a beer! That tool is lucky I did not give him the finger.
Sunday was dull so I'll say that I'll be back a week from today. I have an idea or two as to what I'll be doing so it should be not the most exciting blog but not a crappy one either.

The Blog Where I Talk About Twin Peaks (The Restaurant, Not The TV Show)
Here's a recap of what I've done in the past week. Last Monday I went to Walmart and picked up a few items. I had to deal with a packed Walmart and you can just imagine the type of people there. Tuesday night I went with someone to the local Outback Steakhouse for the first time in months, as the idea to go there popped into my head the day before and looking at their menu, they had a few interesting new items. We ended up enjoying our time there and I had the double burger, as it was one of the items on the menu that was cooked on their wood fire grill. It was quite tasty.
Wednesday was dull so I skipped ahead to Thursday. I decided to go to a restaurant I've known about for awhile but just a few weeks ago came to Orlando. It's known as Twin Peaks. No it's not based on the David Lynch TV show but rather it's a place that is rustic themed and is supposed to look like a lodge in the woods. It's Hooters-esque, so the name and its meaning should become obvious... yeah, it's supposed to be a macho place for guys where they can oogle and goggle hot women who wear tan shorts and a flannel half-shirt where their cleavage is all out in the open. I looked at their menu online and in it they talked about the “scenic views” so they are rather blatant with promoting sexuality.
Before I made it there I stopped at a nearby shopping plaza and went inside a Gamestop for a bit. Then, I went to Twin Peaks. Yeah, in there they do quite a few things to be blatant about sexuality with what they say and do. For example, offering drink sizes for beer in “man size” 32 ounce and “girl size” in 10 ounce. Honest. At times it was eye-rolling but it was crowded there and well, many of the dudes there seemed to be their target audience. “Bro” types, you know. I picked a random spot at the bar that was half indoors and half outdoors. To my right was some fatass douches who yelled and bellowed and just acted like tools. To my left were a pair of older dudes who said that they were from Texas and had to be there for work. One of them did some first-class sexual harassment and told one of the bartenders, “I'd love to wake up in bed next to you!” She took it in stride but I can only imagine what she was thinking. That was the type of people I had to be around. At least I had some alcohol in the form of a beer and two mixed drinks. I also had dinner there and it was tasty as it was my “almost always” of a burger and fries and I thought that both were quite good.
Friday was dull so let me skip ahead to Saturday. I had free time so I did what I wanted to do the previous Saturday, and that was visit the Barnes & Noble on the east side of Orlando and then go to the nearby Orlando Fashion Square Mall, as I hadn't been to either in months. The bookstore was the same but some parts of the mall were different from the past. I did not buy anything from either. I just walked about. It was rainy on this day too but not as bad as the previous Saturday. After that, I decided to try and watch the UFC from a different spot than usual, so instead of the local Buffalo Wild Wings, why not go back to Twin Peaks, since they were showing it? I do have to mention that a rainy Saturday in Orlando, the way that people drove, especially on International Drive... horrid beyond belief.
I enjoy going there but I should stick with BWW for watching UFC shows. TP doesn't seem to know that there are actually prelim fights on FX before pay per views and they get their pay per views in standard definition instead of HD (I thought that was lame, and no one complained about either thing? I hate to say it but it felt like a time where I felt smarter than many of my fellow customers). At least I was able to watch the Blackhawks play. Unfortunately they lost in overtime in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Finals. My complaints about fight night is unfortunate as otherwise I enjoyed being there. I had the chicken tenders & fries and a little later in the night I had the mozzarella sticks. Both were pretty tasty. All the ladies at the bar I was sitting at were pretty nice, and needless to say many pretty dames were working there. Right before I leave, I did have to stare at someone sitting at a nearby table, as this middle-aged A-hole was loudly being rude to one of the waitresses. I don't know what it was about but I had to stare at him more than once. I felt bad for that girl having to deal with such an ogre.
As for the UFC show... it wasn't too good. The pay per view portion was “meh” and last night on Fuel TV I got to see the FX portion I missed; that wasn't too good either.
Yesterday was a boring day stuck at home, so I'll close this out by saying... as (almost) always I'll be back a week from today and I know I'll stumble into some adventures to talk about.

Tropical Storm Andrea, A Videogame Bar, & Being A Jukebox Hero
As usual for me the past few months, there are only a few days out of the week that I talk about anything worthwhile, but for this past week, those two days were definitely worthy of discussion and there is a lot to discuss.
I figured I should mention first the storm known as Tropical Storm Andrea. There was heavy rain and storms on Wednesday and Saturday and it was raining and blowing on Thursday but otherwise it wasn't bad weather-wise. The storm went over the northern part of the state rather than where I live in Clermont. Thankfully I haven't had a major problem with tropical storms and hurricanes since 2004, when I had to deal with FOUR hurricanes passing over Clermont, and there was at least one occasion where you could tell that the eye of the hurricane passed over where I live. Not a fun time. No windows had to be boarded up or anything, but I am glad it's been 9 years since there has been a major threat from a hurricane.
Monday and Tuesday were dull, so let me skip ahead to Wednesday. I decided to go to a place I heard about on Facebook.... a videogame bar! Yes, you heard it right. It's known as Player 1 Video Game Bar, and it's off of 535 in Orlando. It sounded interesting so despite the rain that was going on I decided to make the drive there. I had to deal with the weather and the typical traffic I expect when it's raining, meaning that driver IQ's drop even lower than usual. I got there and I should have known beforehand there was trouble when their official website is their Facebook page and neither on the page nor on the front of the building did it say at what hours they were actually open.
In short, I walk in there as the front door was open, I see that there's a small bar area and there are old arcade games from the 80's... and I get told that they don't open for another 15 minutes (at 6) so I had to wait outside. Um, no. Why should I give money to a rinky-dink joint that doesn't believe in such things as telling their customers in the expected ways when they're actually open? After that rigmarole, I went to the nearby Denny's (always the plan after I left the bar) and had dinner. Despite there being some annoying families there, the food at least tasted good and their limited time only Lemon Icebox Pie Milk Shake was pretty fabulous. After that I drove up to the Sand Lake Road area where I went to the bookstore and then Pinkberry. At least I was able to make something of the day.
Thursday and Friday were dull (aside from a trip to Walmart on one of those days), so let me talk about Saturday. On that day, I decided to do something so I was going to go to the east side of Orlando to visit some places, stop at the new Wawa located on 436, then return to the good old Friendly Confines for the first time in a few months. Well, that afternoon it was a monsoon in and around Orlando and I don't think I've driven through a heavier rainfall in my entire life. It was pretty stressful. I definitely had to go under the speed limit in those conditions, although of course there were other drivers who thought differently. Due to the weather I changed plans and I instead just went to get cheap gas at the Wawa then went to the Friendly Confines. Why not spend some extra time there watching sporting events, listening to the jukebox, have dinner... and drink some alcohol?
Overall, it was nice to stay dry for a bit and have a good time there. I did indeed have some alcohol, eat some chicken fingers for dinner, and for the first time in years I had to contribute some cash to the jukebox so that music would play. I picked out some country-rock since I figured that would be appropriate for the people I saw sitting at the bar, but it was mainly classic rock I picked. It ranged from Bob Seger to The Allman Brothers, Foghat to CCR. I was even “on the nose” and played Riders on the Storm, as it was perfect for the day.
I did see a first at that place... and probably a first for anywhere with me. In the past I've noted a regular customer there who calls himself TUGBOAT. Well, he was there with some pals and as I was eating dinner they decided to leave. I presume they were there for hours, as right by me, one of the people in the party was literally falling down drunk; what I mean is, he literally fell down due to being too intoxicated! They asked him if he was alright and I don't think he could even respond. Finally, after about half a minute they got him up on his feet and the wasted dude had to lean on one of his friends just so he could walk out of there. That may have been the drunkest guy I've ever seen in person. I mean, wow. Even when I got home on this night and had some more alcohol, I was not close to being that obliterated.
Sunday I stayed home and relax, so it's the time for me to say that I'll be back a week from today and as always, I don't have much planned for the next 7 days but I'll find something to do to talk about.

The Blog Where I Reference Dikembe Mutombo Mpolondo Mukamba Jean-Jacques Wamutombo
Yes, I am referencing the birth name of the former NBA player and now Geico commercial star. There is a reason why, and there isn't too much else that happened since this past Tuesday that would make for a good blog title, so here you go. Hell, there isn't too much to talk about in general
Tuesday and Wednesday were dull, so Thursday I had free time and I had a choice as to what to see. I could have gone to a wrestling show in Orlando at a National Guard Armory where I swear I've seen at least 5 different promotions use throughout the years (for good reason, as for the most part it's a great place to have a wrestling event); it is a company that usually has shows in the Northeast. I then looked at the lineup and compared it to the ticket prices, which I only discovered the day of the event. With the relatively high cost and the lineup/matches... no. I instead decided to use my money elsewhere, and I was able to use the rest of a giftcard I got for Christmas, so I went to the AMC Theatres at Downtown Disney to see Fast & Furious 6 for a second time, and on their giant ETX screen to boot.
It was great to see it that way. I could have done without the pair of ladies who I think snuck in about halfway (either that or moved from the middle level to the bottom, but I'll presume it was the former) and then I heard yapping. I stared at them and it must have worked. Imagine what would have happened had I wagged my finger at them as if I was Mr. Mutombo.
Friday, my headphones died so I went to Office Depot to pick up two of them. One of them is to use currently, and once that goes bad I have one available right away. About time I come up with that idea. Saturday, it was the time to get a new phone. It was about time, as the phone I had, I got way back in '08 and it worked fine, except for the battery, which was never replaced. By this time it was in pretty poor condition. So, it was about time for a new phone. I got the LG Revere 2, which is still a flip phone, but I don't care! It's not like I use a phone that much any longer so I just need something basic in case of emergencies. I don't need a smartphone either, as I have an iPod Touch to use apps and WiFi. So, an “uncool” flip phone works for me. I may get crap for it on Twitter but that is OK with me.
Sunday, I stayed in, and that's about it for the recap. I won't talk about how I have dealt with some quite aggravating traffic the past two weeks or so, but I gripe about traffic almost all the time so I better not do it again. It just turned out the past few days were boring for me. When I post my next blog on the 10th, I'll try for it to be more entertaining and more lengthy than this one.
