What a Monday I had. Fathom Events is a company that shows various specials nationwide, whether it's screenings of old movies, operas, and what have you. Well, for some reason they had no showings in the Orlando area for a documentary about the 1985 Chicago Bears. It was not the one that ESPN's 30 for 30 did; rather, it was the competitor known as “'85: The Greatest Team in Pro Football History.” That title could be argued but they were one of the best and they really should have won more than one Super Bowl. I just wish I had more than the faintest memories of that season... I was a toddler in 1985 and 1986, after all. The documentary itself was fine. I could have seen it in Lakeland but I went a little farther so I could stop in Brandon then see it at the Goodrich Quality Theatres in Riverview, which is a nice place that has large screens. Aside from them taking a few minutes to figure out the “complicated” tasks of dimming the lights then having both the audio and video play at the same time, that went fine. I ate dinner there beforehand as they have an attached bar which serves some random food.
Before then... someone tried to run me off the road! I'm not lying. On the way there I honked at some people for driving terribly. I did it once to a bad driver and he went psychotic. I would have called 911 but I was pretty shaken up about it and there was plenty of traffic around so someone must have done it instead. He sped off and I quickly got on another road so I can only hope he got pulled over; I'll just presume I can have the last laugh about it. I did not let that ruin the rest of my day. I walked around the mall in Brandon and the highlight there was discovering something magical: it's either called Thai ice cream or rolled ice cream. There was a stand (Zero Degrees Ice Cream, to be exact) and there are videos that show how it's made, but basically... cream and whatever ingredients you want mixed in are added to a cold plate, it's chopped up, smoothed out, then rolled up. I give it my highest recommendation.
Tuesday and Wednesday I did nothing. I'll just mention that in what was technically Wednesday morning, after getting up to use the restroom I did see a few seconds of the super blue blood moon, which was a neat sight. Thursday, I ended up in Orlando. After finishing an activity, I stopped at a place new to me: on the northeast corner of Conroy and Apopka-Vineland, Snow City Ice Cream does Thai ice cream so I had some of that and once again it was great. I'll definitely return there in the future. Friday was dull and Saturday I went to Target to get some items.
Sunday, Sunday, Sunday, it was the Super Bowl. I was hoping the Eagles would win, as it'd be their first while the New England Patriots have won it too often in the 21st century. For dinner I went to Arby's and because of a coupon I had some of their sliders; those were pretty tasty. The game itself, it would have been nice if there had been more than a few plays of nice defense but I am glad Philadelphia won. The halftime show was utterly boring except for the Prince tribute, which got people mad because Prince was against such things and Justin Timberlake apparently dissed him in the past... so what a great choice to perform at a Super Bowl in Minneapolis. Most of the commercials were either not good or forgettable. As I am me, the Tide ones made me laugh the loudest because they made fun of various bad, cliché ads.
Nothing's on the agenda for the upcoming week but I hope to have more good things to talk about and not any life-threatening moments.
