Tales of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon And Oreo & Creme Milkshakes

Alright, so here's what I have done since this past Monday. On that day, after I posted my blog I went to the dentist to put a filling in on the tooth that had the root canal, which is standard procedure. That went fine. Tuesday, I went to Walmart and that was the usual experience of walking around and occasionally seeing the sterotype that most people think when you think “Walmart customer”. Wednesday was boring (aside from what I purchased on the Xbox Marketplace; more on that later) but Thursday I went to Winter Garden Village. While there I went to Best Buy for the first time in awhile and I purchased two random Blu-Ray discs; after that, Planet Smoothie and I purchased a random smoothie.

Friday and Saturday were dull, so before I get to Sunday, let me mention a few things. This past week was rather rainy down here. I was fine with that as the rain was needed. I just did not feel like going out when the weather wasn't great, and I did not miss not having to deal with the awful Florida traffic; as I've said many times before, when there's any sort of water on the ground, driver IQ's become even lower than usual. When I was out while raining, my theory was not proven wrong. Yes, while I haven't mentioned it much as of late, Florida traffic still stinks. It's the usual rudeness and ignorance with no turn signals being used, not following the Keep Right Except To Pass rule, etc.

I forgot to mention it in the last blog but when I was out in downtown Orlando that one night, I saw some real fancy cars parked on Church Street right by the former Mako's. In the time I've been around that area throughout the years, that part of the street always had valet service so there were usually some nice vehicles there, and sometimes the super-expensive iron. On that night, there was plenty of the super-expensive iron. On the way to the bar/club, I saw a matte black Jaguar XF and a Ford GT supercar from the few years in the past decade when Ford built it as their “halo car” to get attention. On the way back to where I parked I saw a Rolls Royce Phantom, a Maserati sedan, and a black Ferrari F430 convertible. It must be nice to have so much money you can afford to own one of those vehicles.

Now, onto Sunday. I was thinking of going somewhere on this day and Saturday, but I didn't do it on May the 4th (Be With You, and I am amused that has become Star Wars Day, and tickled pink that day was chosen because of a bad pun) because I wasn't sure what the weather would be... turns out it wasn't too bad. But it still worked out fine. Sunday I was thinking of going there but I wanted to be lazy so I changed plans. I will go to that unnamed location sometime later, like maybe later in the month. I instead went to the Mall at Millenia in order to walk around there for a bit and I then went to eat at Burger 21, the joint that started off in Tampa and I've been to their Lakeland location twice and now I've been to their Orlando joint twice. Thankfully the service there this time was better than it was the first time. I had the chicken fingers basket and an Oreo cookies & crème milkshake. The latter was pretty damn great so that was a wise selection on my part.

Before I close this out let me mention what I downloaded on the Xbox Marketplace this past Wednesday. It was Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, some downloadable content for that game but you don't need the original Far Cry 3 game to play it. It is an over the top send-up of low-budget 80's action movies where a neon post-apocalyptic version of 2007 is shown and a man/cyborg known as REX POWER COLT (voiced by Michael Biehn!) has to stop a madman. It is great if you enjoy the unique wackiness of 80's action movies in general, especially the low-budget ones. I don't want to spoil too much but it's just a blast to play. Many awesome things happen, and sometimes you get to see such things as a neon colored dragon (basically a dinosaur) attack some of the bad guys and blow their Jeep up just by running into it, and you can do badass things on your own without prompting, such as jumping off a tall cliff and you catch a zipline and slide down it. There's an awesome score from a group known as Power Glove, one of the many acts you can find on YouTube where they are modern but they do the old-school synth sound of the 1980's. It gets my highest recommendation as it hits all the right notes for me.

I'll be back a week from today. I have in mind several things I could do but nothing is set in stone yet. Right now I am enjoying how it's sunny and in the 70's down here. Hopefully the weather stays nice as I'd like to do some activities with no worries.
